Senator Mark Leno of San Francisco is introducing new legislation that would require insurance companies to disclose the reasons behind rate hikes or coverage denials. But for years, Senator Leno has been promoting his single-payer health care bill, SB 810, which passed the California Senate last month. Single-payer bills have been vetoed twice before by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who claims he cannot support “government-run healthcare.”

Senator Leno says the Governor doesn’t get it. He explains his vision for single-payer health care to KALW’s Hana Baba.
