Education innovator Cameron Sinclair says tear down the ivory tower

While urban planners are designing better ways to blaze trails, Cameron Sinclair is creating better ways for people to get an education. Sinclair is the co-founder of Architecture for Humanity, a charitable organization that designs schools, clinics, and affordable housing in countries facing humanitarian crises. He’s also a TED prize winner who is interested in how people learn and how higher education can be transformed to meet more modern-day needs.
This week, as people around the Bay gear up for tomorrow’s “Day of Action to Defend Education,” we’re featuring innovative thinkers who share their thoughts on improving colleges and universities. Cameron Sinclair sat down with KALW’s Nancy Mullane and told her that higher education should be about a free flow of information, with students and teachers as the central focus.
