One of the finalists from this year's California Book Awards hailed from the Bay Area. Carolina de Robertis is based in Oakland. Her roots, however, are in the small South American country of Uruguay. Nestled between Argentina and Brazil, it’s where her novel “Invisible Mountain” is based. The book tracks three generations of women through 90 years of Uruguayan history, telling magical tales of romance, family traditions and revolution. KALW’s Martina Castro sat down with de Robertis to talk about her novel.
