Investigative reporter Andrew Becker on federal quota for deportations

As Arizona’s controversial immigration law SB1070 captures the nation’s attention, the Obama administration is standing by the claim that it will focus on prosecuting and deporting high-level offenders. However, a recent memo from the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Agency suggests non-criminal immigrants are being deported in much higher numbers.

Andrew Becker is a reporter with the Center for Investigative Reporting and recently broke the story in the Washington Post. KALW’s Holly Kernan asked him to explain what he found.
