Web Exclusive: SF mayoral candidate Cesar Ascarrunz
San Franciscans are exactly three weeks away from choosing their next mayor, and they have 16 candidates vying for their vote. Many of the men and women running for mayor have had political experience, but only one can claim to have owned eight nightclubs and three restaurants.
Cesar Ascarrunz is a San Francisco entrepreneur who is familiar with both the business and political world. Ascarrunz ran in the 1983 mayoral race and again in 1988 – and over 20 years later, he’s giving it another shot.
In this extended interview, Ascarrunz elaborates on what he thinks about the corruption in the city, same sex marriage, and of course, Cesar’s Latin Palace.
This is the fifteenth of KALW News’ San Francisco mayoral candidate interviews. Find all of the candidate Q&As here.
