Protection for renting families

San Francisco has one of the lowest percentages of children of any city in the nation - about fourteen percent. Roughly half of those children live in rent controlled apartments. Today, the County Board of Supervisors is considering whether to make rental households with children eighteen and under a protected class. This means that families would be safe from so-called "owner move-in" evictions in multi-unit buildings. KALW's Steven Short reports.
