A new era in medicine is emerging with the use of robots, 3D visuals, teeny tiny cameras and surgical tools winding through our bodies to carry out the most delicate of operations. One Bay Area company is on forefront of robotic surgical technology and has created a robot called the Da Vinci that is now being used in hospitals all over the world. Taking technology originally developed by the military to provide battlefield care, Intuitive Surgical made a precision robot that can help you and me undergo a routine surgery. KALW's Penny Nelson met with Catherine Mohr in Sunnyvale to see the cutting edge of medical technology.
