Like one of the other responders, I moved my checking to New Resource Bank in San Francisco last year, too. I've had accts that I closed at Citibank and WaMu-cum-Chase.
I finally move my money my friends who work for a new york finance company are always giving me advice and i moved it just before the big bail outs and glad i did.
There’s so much anger over the bank bailout and bonuses that some are calling for people to take their money out of the big banks. But, where would you put it? Well, the Move Your Money campaign suggests smaller, local credit unions and community banks.
One such community bank is in Oakland – it’s called OneCalifornia Bank, and it is essentially a not-for-profit bank. Holly Kernan Spoke with founder Kat Taylor about how her bank works.
