Believe it or not, teaching children about things like the sleeping and eating habits of the common garter snake is something being discussed in the halls of Congress. A bill that's recently passed the U.S. House of Representatives entitled the No Child Left Inside Act, would make hikes to peek in on the habitats of insects, reptiles, and birds just as much a part of the school day as classroom instruction.
